Food Vendor Compliance

Food Vendor Health Department Requirements

Selling or serving food at Motion on Mead may require additional licensing, permits, inspections, or food-safety approvals through Racine County Public Health. Each food vendor is responsible for reviewing the official county requirements and completing anything required for their individual operation.

Before the Event

Submit the county Application for Transient Retail Food Vendor by September 5

Review all applicable Racine County Public Health documents

Determine which licenses, permits, inspections, or approvals apply to your setup

Complete required applications before applicable deadlines

Have someone view the food safety class and name them on the application

Plan your handwashing water source and how wastewater will be disposed of

Prepare no food at home. The county prohibits it.

Keep required documentation available for the event

Make sure your food operation meets applicable public health requirements

Contact Racine County Public Health directly if you are unsure what applies

Requirements may vary depending on the type of food operation. Vendors should rely on Racine County Public Health for official guidance. This checklist is not exhaustive.

Food trucks pay the same rate as other vendors. If your setup requires two spaces, two spaces must be purchased.
